Support for Those Who Care for Children

What We Do

Our mission: We are dedicated to supporting healthy child development by providing high quality education, support and programs to families and early childhood professionals.

The nonprofit Family & Childcare Resources of N.E.W. was established in 2008 as both a family resource center (FRC) and a childcare resource & referral (CCR&R) agency. We want every child to have a happy, healthy, and safe start in life, which is why we provide support for those who care for children: parents, caregivers, and childcare providers.

Parents

Our two main programs for parents and other caregivers are Parents as Teachers (PAT) and Positive Parenting Program (Triple P). Both nationally accredited programs are free to participants.

PAT is an evidence-based early childhood model where our trained parent educators provide at-home services to support pregnant women and families with children from birth through kindergarten.

Triple P is a parenting and family support system designed to prevent, as well as treat, behavioral and emotional problems in children.

This program is offered in several ways: 3-part seminars, workshops/discussion groups, 8-week group classes, and one-on-one support with a parent educator. We also have Spanish speaking staff for Hispanic groups.

Providers

Family & Childcare Resources supports licensed and certified childcare providers through training and on-site consultations. We also provide pre-licensing assistance for those who want to open their own childcare program.

Our technical consultants serve Brown, Door, Kewaunee, Oconto, Shawano, Marinette, and Menominee Counties and Oneida, Menominee, and Stockbridge-Munsee Nation.

Events

Our main fundraising event is Fly a Kite Fest, and we will be celebrating our 11th year on Saturday, June 29th, 2024. This free, fun-filled family event was specifically designed to model our mission of encouraging positive child/adult interactions in a healthy, outdoor environment.

We also hold Community Resource/Diaper Events, additional fundraisers, parenting classes, childcare provider trainings, and many other events in English and Spanish.
