I LOVE YOU BUT I CAN’T STAND YOU RIGHT NOW: MOTHER-TEEN DAUGHTER HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP DYNAMICS WORKSHOP

More mother-daughter reactions to Dr. Williams’ signature seminar: I Love You, But, I Can’t Stand You Right Now

Parenting teens in the 21st century has it’s challenges. Parenting girls requires different skills than those needed for boys. In the midst of it all, a healthy parent-child relationship is crucial.

Healthy mother-daughter relationships are the foundations of others. Not only does it shape future relationships in a girl’s life, it also reduces the likelihood of risky behavior such as skipping school, doing drugs and having sex. To those ends, Dr. Trevicia is passionate about healthy mother-daughter relationships and conducts free workshops to provide them with the skills and information they need to achieve that. Dallas Texas is #1 in the nation for repeat teen pregnancies.

Long before Disney’s Inside Out movie about girls and puberty, through her charity, Real Beauty Inside Our, Dr. Trevicia Williams has been partnering with local school districts to positively impact student achievement, prevent risky behaviors, encourage smart healthy choices, and increase parent involvement in the process. The response has been great for the fun and interactive Real Beauty Inside Out Building & Bonding workshops offered to mothers and teen daughters. Dr. Trevicia emphasizes healthy relationships, smart decision making and prevention through abstinence and effective communication between mothers and daughters. Through research and personal experience, Dr. Williams has found that healthy mother and daughter relationships are the foundations of the work to prevent undesired behaviors including teen pregnancy.

Dr. Williams is a former Texas child bride who through faith, tough decisions and perseverance succeeded against the odds of adversity. In the second publication of her bounce back book: There Are Pearls in the Pain of Every Experience she cuts to the chase about her life as an African American teenager in an arranged marriage to a man from Germany in the United States.

As Dr. Williams goes into schools, synagogues, and meeting rooms to conduct the much needed workshops, it is impossible to do so without the support of life changers and community changers.
