Vancouver-headquartered Max Resource Corp. (TSX-Venture:MXR) was in the news Wednesday, with the announcement of exciting potential results from its project in Colombia.

The company trumpeted findings from what it called a Long Wave InfraRed (LWIR) survey over a 1,000-square-kilometre area within the Company's much larger "Choco Gold Bearing Conglomerate Project", somewhat southwest of Medellin.

A news release out Wednesday revealed that the LWIR survey area encompasses the previously reported 36-sq.-km gold bearing zone, next to historic production of gold and platinum.

A pleased CEO Brett Matich declared, “The LWIR has yielded responses throughout the 1000 sq. km survey area similar to responses over the 36 sq. km area of our concentrated exploration efforts to date."

Lest anyone get ahead of themselves, MXR cautions investors it has yet to verify the historic information.

Even so, shares of MXR muscled up eight cents, or 20.5%, by noon hour ET on Wednesday, to 47 cents, on volume of 4.4 million.
